Patrice Porter

Mrs. Patrice E. Porter is an ordained missionary with Holy Mountain of God Church, a family-oriented non-denominational congregation in Washington, DC. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is working toward licensure in Maryland and the District. She interned with WPCS for a year before becoming permanent staff in November 2000. She serves the Hyattsville (Prince Georges County), Silver Spring, and Crofton communities of Maryland. Mrs. Porter has a special interest in couples counseling and working with people suffering from depression and anxiety. Mrs. Porter holds a Master of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Columbia, Maryland, where she has recently been engaged in doctoral studies. Her dissertational interests include Reintegration of Schizophrenic "Voices," Dependent-Narcissistic partnerships, and Ethical Problems in the Clergy-Counselor Dual Relationship. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of the District of Columbia. Mrs. Porter is a native Washingtonian, has been married for 26 years, and is the mother of five sons. She teaches Sunday School and is very active in music ministry in her church (she plays the electric bass guitar!). She also enjoys reading and movies.
